Sky Lance, Founder and Managing Principal (Boston, MA)
Sky began his career in 1983 with the Bank of Boston in its High Technology Division, making equity-oriented loans and direct equity investments in early-stage high tech companies. In 1989, he joined the investment staff of Pacific Life Insurance Company and made direct investments in private debt and equity, as well as in investment limited partnerships (LBO, Mezzanine and Venture funds), both on a primary and secondary basis. In 1990, Sky co-founded the private equity firm today known as Windjammer Capital Investors with over $2 billion under management. In 2007, Sky founded SustainVC and since then has devoted his time entirely to investing for-profit dollars into early-stage companies that are making a positive difference in the world. Sky’s non-work passion is singing bass with his 8-person a cappella group called “The Works!”

Tom Balderston, Managing Principal (Philadelphia, PA)
Tom has built and managed venture capital portfolios for over 35 years, as a general partner, limited partner and angel investor. From 1985–98, Tom worked with TDH Group where he was a General Partner of its TDH III venture fund. Subsequently, Tom was President of SGI Capital, the private equity investment unit of Superior Group and in 2001, Tom formed Balderston Capital which advises investors, funds and companies. Tom serves on numerous private company boards and fund advisory committees and is active on a number of community/industry boards, including Investors’ Circle, the most active impact investing angel organization in the U.S. Tom is moderately ambidextrous, a semi-retired gym rat, and an avid golfer.

Justin Desrosiers, Managing Principal (Durham, NC)
Justin has over 14 years of managerial, entrepreneurial and investment experience. He started his career as an environmental consultant and spent eight years advising Fortune 500 clients. After running his own startup, he joined Investors’ Circle as Director of Investments, vetting companies and facilitating due diligence. In 2013, he joined the SustainVC team to manage PCC's ’13/’15 funds and has been involved in the entire investment process, from sourcing deals through conducting due diligence and portfolio management. Justin is currently a board observer for five PCC portfolio companies. Justin has strong sector experience and interest in energy, sustainability, education and health & wellness sectors. In his limited free time Justin enjoys spending time with his family (also known as chasing around his two young children) in Durham, NC.

Eric Chapman, Managing Principal (Philadelphia, PA)
Eric began his business life with a series of entrepreneurial ventures. He then had a 20+ year international career in consulting with Accenture. Initially focusing on manufacturing and supply chain operations, Eric broadened his activities into overall corporate strategy, building eCommerce marketplaces and other disruptive business models for large clients. In addition to client duties, Eric was responsible for the P&L of a 900-person, $200M+ Client Service Group. He made his career at the intersection of new technology and innovative business models. His appreciation for the transformative powers of technology-enabled, disruptive business models has fueled Eric's interest in impact investing. Eric serves on a number of boards and supports an impact investing course at Wharton. He coaches girls' soccer and is an avid soccer player himself.

Andrew Cousins, Analyst (Durham, NC)
Prior to joining SustainVC, Andrew was the Investment Manager at Investors' Circle, where he managed deal flow, facilitated due diligence, and syndicated deals across a network of 200+ impact investors. In his time at IC, he was involved in over 100 deals representing over $30 million. Andrew began his career in the insurance industry before going to Latin America, where he worked as a field consultant with an Ashoka fellow incubating social innovations and testing last mile distribution models for energy and healthcare products. Andrew is a Frontier Market Scout and received a graduate certificate in Impact Investing from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut. Andrew has a keen interest in food systems and spends his free time working in his backyard vegetable gardens.
